Background:1990s TV star Matthew Fox gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of elder sibling Charlie Salinger in the Golden Globe-winning series Party of Five (1994-2000). He also gained notice after playing a troubled young man, James Jones, in CBC's Behind The Mask (1999), in which he received rave reviews from critics. Though he suffered in finding more prominent roles after Party of Five, Matthew again attracted attention when he was cast as Jack Shepard, a man who became the leader of a group of airplane-crash survivors trapped on a mysterious island, in the hit ABC series Lost (2004). Recently, the Golden Globe-winning star also appeared as a guest star in a number of TV shows. Off screen, Matthew was listed as one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1996. He reportedly debuted as a movie director with Lucky Bugger.
