God bless America. God save the Queen. God defend New Zealand and thank Christ for Australia.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I like villains because there's something so attractive about a committed person -- they have a plan, an ideology, no matter how twisted. They're motivated.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
There has to be a mathematical explanation for how bad that tie is.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]

On himself: 'I am a specialist in unrequited love' (mentioned to the audience at the Austin concert).More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
The bottom line is, you know, I did something really stupid, and I don't wish to ever repeat that again.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I don't make demands. I don't tell you how it should be. I'll give you options, and it's up to you to select or throw 'em away. That should be the headline: If you're insecure, don't call.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
Like everyone else, I've had moments when I've felt that I've been losing my grip.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
Living in LA would be like unrolling my swag in the office. I just don't think it would be healthy, mate.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I really feel sorry for people who are, who divide their whole life up into 'things that I like' and 'things that I must do.' You're only here for a short time, mate. Learn to like it.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I liked everything I read about Braddock, ... I liked who he was before he was a champion, who he was when he was a champion and who he was afterwards, too. I liked the fact that his otherwise very simple life had this incredible zeitgeist flair in the middle of it and afterwards he just kept working, bringing up his children and loving his wife. For me, it's the story of how one family survived the Depression. Braddock died in 1974 in the same house that he had bought in 1935 with his winnings from the world championship and where he had seen his kids grow up and his grandchildren born.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I didn't want to be a dad under those circumstances. I never wanted to have to have children who would hear the kind of conversations I had to hear my parents having, wondering where the money was going to come from for the next rent.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
But when I can't sleep at night, I design clothes, and this is something I had made up as a crew gift.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
I don't use my celebrity to make a living. I don't do ads for suits in Spain like George Clooney or cigarettes in Japan like Harrison Ford . To me, it is kind of sacrilegious. It's a complete contradiction of the social contract you have with your audience. I mean, Robert De Niro advertising American Express. Gee whiz, it's not the first time he's disappointed me. It's been happening for a while.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
[I'm reminded of the movie] Gladiator ... Well, we have their answer.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
The people who don't have a good relationship with me from a good performance point of view are very few and far between.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
If I don't get the goose-bump factor when I'm reading it than I can't do it.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
Meg Ryan is a beautiful and courageous woman. I grieve the loss of her companionship but I've not lost the friendship. We talk all the time and that was what our connection was about. She has a wonderful mind and we just like a chat.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
Some of the things you read you get an immediate reaction to so I've stopped reading things now. I do worry about my family though. Some people do try some nasty things to get at them and try and get a reaction from them.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
Reality is, I'm an actor and an entertainer, and I really wouldn't know what to do with another profession.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
F--- me, I'm sorry. I just wanted to get the f------ phones to work.More Russell Crowe [05/24/2006 12:05:00]
