American actor and model.

Background:

American television actor Barry Watson is best known for portraying series
regular Matt Camden in the WB's "7th Heaven" (1996-2002, 2004-), in which
Watson's bright performance handed him the Teen Choice Award in 2002. He has
also worked in several television movies like Fatal Deception: Mrs. Lee Harvey
Oswald (1993), Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (1993) and Co-ed Call Girl (1996). Fan
currently saw him playing the title character in TV series "What About Brian"
(2005).

On the wide screen, Watson is well received for playing the lead roles in such
films as the comedy Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999), the drama-action When Strangers
Appear (2001), Wallace Wolodarsky's Sorority Boys (2002) and the thriller
Boogeyman (2005).

Watson's rugged cuteness once brought him to be chosen as one of TV Guide's the
sexiest on TV and one of People Magazine's most beautiful people on TV. He was
also listed as one of YM magazine's 50 Most Beautiful Guys in the Universe in
1997. As for his private life, 6'1" inch tall Watson wed Laura Watson on
December 21, 2004, but the couple later divorced. He next engaged to actress
Tracy Hutson on August 3, 2004 and they reportedly welcomed their first son
Oliver on May 2005.

Childhood and Family:

Born Michael Barret Watson on April 23, 1974, in Traverse City, Michigan, Barry
Watson is the son of an attorney father and a paralegal mother. The third child
of the family, Barry has two older siblings, brother Scott and sister Christi,
and a younger brother, Kip.

At age eight, Barry Watson, whose nickname is Bucky, relocated to Dallas, Texas
and began a short-lived modeling career. Encouraged by his modeling manager, he
then took acting lessons at the Dallas Young Actors Studio. After his parents
divorced, Barry took off to Burbank, California and almost quickly finding a job
in the NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives." The job lasted for only six months,
hence making him returned home to Dallas to complete high school at Richardson.
When he turned 19, Barry moved back to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.


Tori Spelling introduced Barry to Laura Watson while he was doing a recurring
role on Aaron Spelling's Malibu Store in 1996. He eventually married Laura on
December 21, 1997, but later on the coupe divorced. Barry currently has a son,
Oliver (born on May 2005), from his fiancй actress Tracy Hutson. During his off
time, Barry enjoys spending time outdoors in and around Los Angeles, fixing up
his home and playing with his dogs, Harsky and Stutch. He also likes to collect
unusual belt buckles.

Career:

Barry Watson first arrived at Los Angeles when he was 15, landing a job on the
soap opera "Days of Our Lives" (1990). At age 19, he moved back to Los Angeles
to try chances to be a professional actor. During his hard time, he worked
parking cars at the House of Blues nightclub while auditioning.

Watson made television film debut as young guy at TV Station in NBC's Fatal
Deception: Mrs. Lee Harvey Oswald (1993) and appeared as teen boy in the HBO
original movie Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (1993, starring Daryl Hannah). He next
made guest appearances in "The Nanny" (1994), "Sister, Sister" (1995) and
"Baywatch" (1996). He teamed up with Aaron Spelling when he landed recurring
role of Seth in NBC series Malibu Shores (1996), and played Jack Collins in the
made-for-TV movie Co-ed Call Girl (1996).

Traverse City, Michigan native Watson delivered a big break when he was cast as
regular Matt Camden on the WB popular series "7th Heaven" (1996). Through his
impressive performance, he won the hearts of a wide public. As a result, he took
home the Teen Choice Award for Choice Actor Comedy in 2002. The same year,
Watson took some time away after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. While
enduring chemotherapy treatment, he worked as a writer on the series. In 2004,
however, Watson went back to light up the show as a regular cast member after he
is free from the cancer.

While working on "7th Heaven," Watson had his feature film debut in Kevin
Williamson's black comedy Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999), starring as Luke Churner,
along side Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes and Helen Mirren. He found himself
acted opposite Radha Mitchell and Josh Lucas in the drama-action When Strangers
Appear (2001, portrayed Jack Barrett) and made a notable cameo as Poker Player
in the star-filled film Ocean's Eleven (2001).

In 2001, Watson costarred opposite Harland Williams and Smallville star Michael
Rosenbaum in director Wallace Wolodarsky's Sorority Boys (2002, played
Dave/Daisy). The comedy film is focused on three frat young men who don drag and
pledge at a sorority. Disappearing from the screen for almost two years, Watson
made his return on the silver screen in 2004 when he portrayed Jeff Stuckley in
the comedy romantic Deluxe Combo Platter (2004). The film starred Marnie Alton,
Kee Chan, Jonathan Cherry and Aaron Grain.

Recently, 7th Heaven star Watson played the title character Brian O'Hara in TV
series "What About Brian" (2005) and appeared in "The Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson" (2005). He also played the lead role of Tim in director Stephen T.
Kay's thriller Boogeyman (2005), also starred Emily Deschanel and Skye McCole
Bartusiak.
