We were always taught to swing slow with good tempo. But you have to have some acceleration throughout the swing. I think that's where a lot of women go wrong. They should try to whack it a few times and see what happens.

As soon as I accepted my captaincy I knew I wanted Marie-Laure to be my vice captain. I am so pleased that she agreed. Marie-Laure is a great friend, she has a huge amount of experience and she will bring a lot to the team.

I remember I had to play with Nancy Lopez in my first game (foursome) and I didn't know if I was going to ask her for autograph. You know, we were so nervous to play with these players that we had never met and obviously they had been idols.

It's a wonderful honor to be captain in an event that has given me some of the most incredible memories that I've experienced in golf,
