Michael Jordan Quotes

American professional basketball player, active businessman, and majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats.

A leader can't make excuses. There has to be quality in everything you do. Off the court, on the court, in the classroom. I took cooking classes when I was younger; girls weren't interested in me, and I thought I may be alone for the rest of my life. A coach is someone that sees beyond your limits and guides you to greatness! I missed 9000 shots in my career, lost almost 300 games and missed the shot to win the game 26 times. Every time I feel tired while I am exercising and training, I close my eyes to see that picture, to see that list with my name. This usually motivates me to work again. You have to be uncompromised in your level of commitment to whatever you are doing, or it can disappear as fast as it appeared... Excellence isn't a one-week or one-year ideal. It's a constant. There will be days when you don't feel on top of your game, or meetings in which you aren't at your best, but your commitment remains constant. No compromises. Failure gave me strength. Pain was my motivation Great players never look in the mirror and think I'm a great basketball player. You ask yourself, Am I the best player I can be? Isn't (life) all about trying? If you love the game, nobody can take that from you. Suddenly all is quiet. The other nine players? They're all moving in slow motion! I'm at normal speed! I know where everyone's going even before they know themselves. The basket is huge, maybe six feet across! How can I miss? It's like throwing a rock into a pond. I'm hoping to develop a lot of graphic novels and television shows and films and animation. I've got my hands in a lot of different things! I'm definitely a lover, but I fight when I have to - for something or someone. I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. The greatest people that ever lived were also the greatest failures. They just didn't let those failures affect them like they do most. If I have something and move forward, it is only my weakness, which I hate and turn into my strength. You are not lost as long as you do not give up! Failure is acceptable. but not trying is a whole different ball park. Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion. Enjoy every minute of life. Never second-guess life. I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.
Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying. If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working on it. Basketball isn't my job. I think school is very important and I personally had a great experience at North Carolina, which helped shape me as a basketball player and a person. Every once in a while, you will have a player who can make the jump and have an immediate impact on the professional level, but most of the players who come out would absolutely benefit from going to college. The players today reflect how much the game has evolved and changed both in style and culture. The game now has a wider appeal to a larger market. The key to success is failure If you do the work you get rewarded. There are no shortcuts in life. I'd take 12 guys who had a strong passion for the game over 12 guys who don't respect the game. I do a lot. I don't like to sit still. I am pretty spontaneous. I like to cook a lot. I like to eat. I like to workout, surf, read, write, and create. I am always working on a couple of projects that I always have and need to put more time into. Phone calls are much more personal than texting and then when you get a girl on the phone, it's like you ask a question and you get a response back. For a text message, they can read it and get back to it whenever they want to. So that makes a difference, almost like a power play in a way. We all use texting as a crutch because it's so easy and it doesn't really stop our day for the most part but I think to assure a woman you want to go out, to see that you're serious, you take the extra effort to pick up the phone and make a phone call.
