Claudia Cardinale

Claudia Cardinale

Her role in 'Claretta' (1984)
Claudia began her career in showbusiness after being discovered in a beauty pagent. When the scouts saw her they instantly fell in love with her and hired her and at the young age of 17 she began her acting career. Before that she went to school for interpretation in Rome, Italy. When she won the beauty pagent and went to Venice on a free trip. Shortly after that the offers poured in and she began acting full time. She signed up to a restrictive contract that didn't allow her to cut her hair short or have any children or even gain a single pound. Any violation to this contract and she wouldn't be paid. This was too much for her and she decided to have a son outside of marriage and not tell the studio about it. She kept her pregancy a secret and when the baby arrived she told everyone that he was her baby brother instead of her son. She kept this secret until her film career was more established and finally told everyone when her son was nineteen years of age. Claudia always had trouble speaking proper English and she would have been even more popular if she had learned to speak it better. But overall her career is a big success.Source: rivalquest.com
